Belindri (pronounced bee-len-dree) sitting on a stump started to think about the many colo[u]rs of the Earth. He began to think about red – blood and apples. He wondered what it was about blood that made it red and what about apples made them red. And he wondered, why is it that blood and apples are red and not some other colo[u]r. Red is a very powerful colo[u]r, it represents security, and safety. He also wondered why, way back when, people used to use it as an adjective to describe someone as angry. A strange colo[u]r, indeed.

Walking through the meadow was no different today than it had been any other day for Paninia (pronounced pan-een-yuh). She walked through this particular meadow everyday with grace and loveliness. She would enter the meadow, close her eyes, and allow her legs to carry her body, while her imagination ran free. Her imagination that had, on countless occasions, taken her to new heights of exploration. It had taken her beyond where she ever thought she could go; to places of complete serenity. Once and awhile, she would come across trees. Usually, these trees were like trees she had seen on earlier days, but not today. Today’s trees were different.

Immediately, she thought that the red was too bright, so she mixed it with some brown and the resulting mixture was a much darker red. The brush rose to the canvas again and she began to paint the sun. She wanted the base col[u]r of the sun to be quite rouge and the red that she had chosen was not going to fail her. She put down the brush and picked up a different brush. This brush, she dabbed it in the orange.

Looking up into the sky, he noticed that there were an abundance of clouds. Many big and fluffy puffs of white were very near. This was absolutely exciting for Genswen (pronounced jen-sween). He knew that these large clouds were going to look gorgeous when the sun said goodbye to today and disappeared over the horizon. The sun was nearing its time to when it was going to be setting, too. The anticipation was palpable, but contained as Genswen watched the sky. Second by second he knew that it was inching closer to the time when the sky would be a potpourri of beauty.

For most of Oleacha’s (pronounced oh-lee-ah-cha) life, she had been accustomed to the sun rising in the morning, setting in the evening, while the moon rose in the evening, and set in the morning. It was just the nature of things and how the cycle went. The sky would be bright blue during the day, if there were no clouds, and if there were clouds, the sky would be some form of white or grey depending on the type of cloud. When the sun was setting, Oleacha got to see magnificent purples, oranges, and sometimes reds. More often than not, the sunset, in her experience, was no bigger deal than anything else in her life.
