Belindri (pronounced bee-len-dree) sitting on a stump started to think about the many colo[u]rs of the Earth. He began to think about red – blood and apples. He wondered what it was about blood that made it red and what about apples made them red. And he wondered, why is it that blood and apples are red and not some other colo[u]r. Red is a very powerful colo[u]r, it represents security, and safety. He also wondered why, way back when, people used to use it as an adjective to describe someone as angry. A strange colo[u]r, indeed.

He looked up at the sky as if to say, ‘thank you.’ It was how he started everyday – with gratitude. Ricando (pronounced ree-can-doh) was not quite sure when it began, but for as long as he could remember, when he would immerse from the hypnopompic state, he would directly look into the sky and give thanks. It wasn’t that he was thanking any particular person for any one thing, but just offering thanks in general. Gratitude was something that Ricando has always felt was an important part of one’s life and from his perspective, there wasn’t a better way to start the day than with thanks.

Looking up at the size of this great entity was breathtaking. From where he stood, he could not see the top of its glorious-ness. All he knew was that it went up and up and up! The rigid peaks stretching up to the sky covered in all sorts of vegetation colo[u]red green. He had never seen anything so beautiful. His ideas about mountains always contained images of rocks, steep valleys, and maybe some snow on top. He had never imagined there were mountains that were covered in plants and greens. As he reflected on it, of course there would be mountains like this. Mountains that occur closer to the equator wouldn’t be likely to have snowy seasons, but rain that would last for days and days – ergo, vegetation.

Throwein (pronounced tro-ween) enjoyed being outside. It was one of his favo[u]rite things to do. For him, nature was nurturing. Just being outside in the open, expansive, and fresh air… so electric! He found the outside to be much more comforting than the inside. It wasn’t that he didn’t like being inside, but he just didn’t see a reason to be inside when there was so much happening outside. Outside there were trees. Outside there were birds. Outside there were cats. Outside there were dogs. Outside there were flowers. Outside there was sky. Outside there was grass. Outside – had everything anyone could ever possibly want or need.

Nivol (pronounced nih-vull) considered himself an observant person. Whenever he was out and about, he was always very keen to take in his surroundings and more importantly, just what was happening in his surroundings. He would always keep his eyes and ears open. Not just his physical senses were aware of what was happening, but his subtle senses, too. This wasn’t something that he had to ‘effort.’ It seemed to just happen for him. When Nivol would go places or do things, he would always be very aware of everything that was going on around him. This was who he was.
