She cradled it in her hands. She lifted it to her nose and took in the intoxicating aroma, Revina (pronounced rah-vee-nuh) cut into the skin of the fruit and the juice began to run down her fingers. The sweet smell of mango permeated her nostrils. The bright orange colo[u]r of the vibrant piece of food became all that Revina could see. It was as if the orange colo[u]r had become a tint over her iris and it was all she could see – the orange of the mango. The vibrancy of the mango was almost mesmerizing as she allowed herself to truly take in this wonderful piece of fruit.

Today is the day – the day above all others. She had been waiting for this day for quite some time. Milindia (pronounced mel-in-dee-uh) had known it was coming, but now that it was finally here, she wasn’t sure what to do with herself. She had done lots of preparing – lots of thinking about what it would be like when it finally came, but she had never actually thought to consider what she would do when it was actually here. That is to say, she imagined what it would be like, but she didn’t imagine what she would do.

Domeniana (pronounced dough-min-yan-uh) was frolicking through the various fruit trees in the orchard. She was laughing and singing and playing as her feet floated from one patch of grass to the next. She was careful not to step on any of the fruit that had just landed on the ground as she knew that this could be food for some of her animal friends.
