Vaskal, still on his side and looking at the various snow crystals, wondered what these new discoveries really meant to him. He had always considered knowledge to be an important part of his time here in this life, but he never had really considered knowledge acquisition to be part of his trips up the mountain. Now that he was where he was, he was trying to figure out what other kinds of knowledge he had acquired on his times coming up the mountain. Had he gained other knowledge in coming up the mountain? He liked being able to imagine himself being the first human to see some of the nooks and crevices that he got to see.

“Quiet your mind, quiet your mind,” was what he was always told. For some reason, it never really sunk in. Phidin (pronounced fidd-in) always thought that he never really understood what that meant because people always told him and never showed him. Of course, when Phidin would tell people that he needed them to show it to him, they laughed at him. How could someone show him (or anyone for that matter) how to quiet his mind? To quiet one’s mind is something that needed to be figured out for one’s self is what they would always told him. Now, how was that going to help him?
