(This Imagining is a continuation of the imagining started on June 14th, 2010, and can be found here: Birds Make the Most Incredible Music)

Panlinea continued to lay on the grass and listen to the birds singing their song. Hummingbirds, robins, cardinals, blue jays, orioles, herons – they were all so beautiful to listen to! Some, sung more with what seemed an intention to sound like music, while others were just squawking to claim their territory – which was normal. Listening as the birds remained steadfast in their singing, all of a sudden the birds stopped. Silence. No more birds were singing. Panlinea leaned up to see what was going on.

She watched as the bird soared high above the sky. Its wingspan was a sight to see. In gazing upon the bird, Brina (pronounced breen-uh) realized that it didn’t even seem that the bird was flying. It looked more like the bird was gliding through the air. Almost as if it was just riding the air currents and exerting the least amount of strength possible to propel itself. It was remarkable to watch how it twisted and turned hardly ever flapping its wing to move itself as most other birds that Brina had seen. From what she could understand, it seemed that most birds flapped their wings to move, but this one, this one just glided.

There seemed to be nothing that was noteworthy of what she observed, so she continued to walk.

Haleinda (pronounced ha-lee-un-day) was lying under shelter as she watched the rain pouring to the ground. It was as if the rain hadn’t seen the Earth in a really long time and it was trying to do all of its catching up at once. It was quite extraordinary, she thought, to see this wonderful display of awesome power, because the rain really was powerful. The rain could knock down trees. The rain could collect as water and then move extremely heavy objects like boulders from being in the way. Nothing was able to hold up against rain when it really had a purposive act.

Throwein (pronounced tro-ween) enjoyed being outside. It was one of his favo[u]rite things to do. For him, nature was nurturing. Just being outside in the open, expansive, and fresh air… so electric! He found the outside to be much more comforting than the inside. It wasn’t that he didn’t like being inside, but he just didn’t see a reason to be inside when there was so much happening outside. Outside there were trees. Outside there were birds. Outside there were cats. Outside there were dogs. Outside there were flowers. Outside there was sky. Outside there was grass. Outside – had everything anyone could ever possibly want or need.
