She watched as the bird soared high above the sky. Its wingspan was a sight to see. In gazing upon the bird, Brina (pronounced breen-uh) realized that it didn’t even seem that the bird was flying. It looked more like the bird was gliding through the air. Almost as if it was just riding the air currents and exerting the least amount of strength possible to propel itself. It was remarkable to watch how it twisted and turned hardly ever flapping its wing to move itself as most other birds that Brina had seen. From what she could understand, it seemed that most birds flapped their wings to move, but this one, this one just glided.

Immediately, he was transported to a world of wonder. He opened his eye and he could see the wispy clouds delicately poking out through the spaces between the leaves in the trees. The white and green being such a perfect complement to each other. He looked in the other direction and he saw a magnificent mountain. Because of the distance between him and it, he was able to comprehend the awesome power that it contained. It was large and not just physically. The energy coming from it could be felt even as far away that he was.

Webolie (pronounced web-ole-ee) couldn’t remember the last time that it rained so hard. She literally, couldn’t remember. This was odd to her as she usually had a good memory. She surmised the irony of the situation because the rain seemed to coincide with what seemed to be a strange time in her life – almost as if nature was conspiring to add pathetic fallacy to her life. Even though this seemed to be, Webolie knew that this was not the case.

It wasn’t often that she let herself go, but today was different. Today was a day where she felt like there was infinite potential. While there wasn’t actually anything different about today from any other day, Chrina (pronounced chreen-uh) felt like it was, so she was going to treat it differently. She knew that there was to be lots of rain this afternoon, and this made her wonder about how she could do something totally radical. She thought long and hard about what she could do to make today drastically different from any other day she had been in for quite some time. After much thought and deliberation it came to her – mud.

For most of Oleacha’s (pronounced oh-lee-ah-cha) life, she had been accustomed to the sun rising in the morning, setting in the evening, while the moon rose in the evening, and set in the morning. It was just the nature of things and how the cycle went. The sky would be bright blue during the day, if there were no clouds, and if there were clouds, the sky would be some form of white or grey depending on the type of cloud. When the sun was setting, Oleacha got to see magnificent purples, oranges, and sometimes reds. More often than not, the sunset, in her experience, was no bigger deal than anything else in her life.
