Belindri (pronounced bee-len-dree) sitting on a stump started to think about the many colo[u]rs of the Earth. He began to think about red – blood and apples. He wondered what it was about blood that made it red and what about apples made them red. And he wondered, why is it that blood and apples are red and not some other colo[u]r. Red is a very powerful colo[u]r, it represents security, and safety. He also wondered why, way back when, people used to use it as an adjective to describe someone as angry. A strange colo[u]r, indeed.

Walking through the meadow was no different today than it had been any other day for Paninia (pronounced pan-een-yuh). She walked through this particular meadow everyday with grace and loveliness. She would enter the meadow, close her eyes, and allow her legs to carry her body, while her imagination ran free. Her imagination that had, on countless occasions, taken her to new heights of exploration. It had taken her beyond where she ever thought she could go; to places of complete serenity. Once and awhile, she would come across trees. Usually, these trees were like trees she had seen on earlier days, but not today. Today’s trees were different.

Kazulia (pronounced ka-zool-yah) opened the drawer where she kept most of her jewelry (or jewellery) and began looking through what she had. She always liked to don some sort of fashionable accessory before she left the place where she lived. The kinds of jewelry that she had and that most people she knew had was the kind of jewelry that you made on your own. That is to say, no one ‘purchased’ jewelry from a store – they made it themselves. It was much more appropriate in Kazulia’s time for people to spend some time each month creating something wonderful to accessorize with. As she continued to look at what she had, she was realizing that nothing really caught her eye, so she knew that it must be time to head down to the beach.

Jinbilia (pronounced gin-bill-ee-uh) was walking along the beach. The sand holding her feet as she stepped from place-to-place. She always enjoyed walking along the beach and listening to the waves crest and fall into themselves. The water was a lovely and relaxing place for her. Today, she thought that it would be exciting to visit the coral. She couldn’t remember the last time she had swam deep into the water to look at the coral. In fact, she was so motivated to see the coral that she stopped her walking down the beach and began walking into the water.

Mazinka (pronounced ma-zeen-kah) had never seen trees with green leaves let alone trees with leaves that changed colors. He had spent most of his life living in places where there was only desert – either sand or snow. And he loved the sand and the snow. To him, they were beautiful. As it was all he knew, he found things about them that he rather enjoyed. The sand could create wonderful dunes, which appeared as if they were mountains of the sand. The snow could be compressed into a sphere and then thrown relatively long distances. But today, Mazinka was going to get to see trees with leaves.
