Panlinea continued to lay on the grass and listen to the birds singing their song. Hummingbirds, robins, cardinals, blue jays, orioles, herons – they were all so beautiful to listen to! Some, sung more with what seemed an intention to sound like music, while others were just squawking to claim their territory – which was normal. Listening as the birds remained steadfast in their singing, all of a sudden the birds stopped. Silence. No more birds were singing. Panlinea leaned up to see what was going on.

Auminda, visibly shaken from the set of experiences that just happened, sat on the edge of the bed. He reached over and picked up the eagle feather to examine it more closely. Yessiree, it was an eagle’s feather, alright. Had he just imagined all this? Had he really just found an eagle’s feather on his pillow after having that shamanic journey? Belindri (pronounced bee-len-dree) sitting on a stump started to think about the many colo[u]rs of the Earth. He began to think about red – blood and apples. He wondered what it was about blood that made it red and what about apples made them red. And he wondered, why is it that blood and apples are red and not some other colo[u]r. Red is a very powerful colo[u]r, it represents security, and safety. He also wondered why, way back when, people used to use it as an adjective to describe someone as angry. A strange colo[u]r, indeed.

It was the day of the final exam in Mr. Treanor’s organic biology class. He walked into the classroom to find all of his students seated in their usual places. Looking out over the class, Mr. Treanor saw a variety of faces. That is, when he walked in, he was used to seeing certain kinds of looks on the faces of his students, but today, there was something different. The looks on the faces of these students provided him with different information. Regardless, he was still going to do what he had been planning on doing for the last couple of weeks.
