Mountain and Man Stay Connected May 25, 2010

Grentana (pronounced gren-tawn-a) moved his hand from the current rock it was holding to a higher one such that he could pull himself up and place his foot on a rock higher than it was currently on. He moved up the face of the rock as it he intimately knew where each protruding jagged edge was and where each welcoming crevice lay for his foot and hand. While this may have been the first time he was climbing this mountain in the flesh, it was not the first time he had seen it with his inside eyes. Many times he has come to visit this mountain in his dreams and scale its beautiful body.

The strange thing about Grentana’s adventure up the side of this nature-built structure was that he didn’t have any ‘safety’ gear. There were no ropes, belays, or chalk to help him on his journey. Instead, he used his instincts and his intuition to let the mountain guide him where to place his extremities. He felt a deep connection to this mountain as he has visited it many times in dream-state. No matter, he feels like he has been here a thousand times before. And maybe he is right about being here many times before. There is scientific evidence that our minds cannot tell the difference between what we imagine and what we actually see with our physical eyes.

If there were someone watching Grentana climb this mountain they would be watching a symbiotic relationship in action. As Grentana moves from rock-to-rock, from crevice-to-crevice, from plateau-to-plateau, it is clear that there is a wisdom shared between the two that is far beyond the spoken or written word. It is far beyond any man-made construct and that they are simply synchronized.

A few seconds later, Grentana snorted and rolled over in his comfortable bed. His eyes were slow to open, but when they did, he realized that his adventure, in the flesh, would to wait another day. Until that day, Grentana was content to continually visit his mountain every night of the week – in his imagination.
