She watched as the fire was absolutely mesmerizing. The crackling and bustling of the wood made loud sounds. Colapena (pronounced Cah-lah-pee-nah) watched as the fire danced in the darkness. It was one of her favorite things to do – watch fire. During the day, she would collect all of the branches that had fallen on the ground nearby, and when nightfall began, she would light aflame to them – simply to watch the ‘show’ of the fire.
